Pay Range: $40 - $45 per hour

What can you expect?

As the Business Compliance Specialist, you will manage various technical and administrative functions for multiple Brice 8(a) companies to ensure efficient and effective business operations. Your personal initiative and critical thinking skills are essential to complete job duties with minimal guidance. Assignments are deadline driven so must be able to set priorities, take ownership of projects, work efficiently, and provide a consistent level of high quality in a high-pressure environment.

How will you do it?

  • Manage the preparation of SBA 8(a), Mentor-Protg and Joint Venture Applications including entry into SBA CERTIFY system.
  • Manage SBA annual reviews and report requirements including data entry into SBA CERTIFY system.
  • Manage the development and reporting of Joint Venture and Mentor/Protge agreements.
  • Manage System for Award Management (SAM)
  • Manage state licensing requirements for business/personnel outside of Alaska.
  • Manage the multi-state DBE applications/reporting.
  • Coordinate Bonding and Insurance requirements.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position will have no supervisory functions.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of federal and state contracting programs including SBA, DBE, and other related programs.
  • Knowledge of basic corporate governance principles, and knowledge of SBA rules and regulations, including the 8(a) Business Development Program, Alaska Native Corporations, and basic contract principles.
  • Knowledge of state business registration and licensing requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as basic contracts, insurance policies, governmental forms relating to business registration and licensing, safety rules, and other like documents.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to use standard business computers and business applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint programs, especially Word, Power Point, and Adobe Acrobat Professional.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, and ability to multi-task and manage time.
  • Strong self-motivation and work ethic, and ability to work without direct supervision.
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
  • Ability to create and maintain highest levels of confidentiality when dealing with proprietary information and sensitive situations.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.

Who is Brice Pacific for?

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Business or equivalent experience required.
  • Minimum 1-2 years experience working in a business with federal and state contracting experience required, 5 years preferred.
  • Ability to pass a drug and background screening.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two or more years experience working with an Alaska Native Corporation and SBA programs preferred.
  • Alaska notary certification preferred.
