Position Overview: We are seeking a talented Ophthalmology Research Technician Lead to join our team at Elmendorf Air Force Base. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in providing top-tier outpatient ophthalmology healthcare services to Government beneficiaries. The ideal candidate will have a passion for research, an eye for detail, and a commitment to delivering exceptional care. Key Responsibilities: Perform outpatient ophthalmology technician healthcare services for Government beneficiaries. Assist ophthalmologists in surgery, including performing ophthalmic clinical photography, fluorescence angiography, electrophysiological, and microbiological procedures. Act as the Assistant to the Refractive Surgery Manager, supporting their duties and responsibilities. Assume the roles and responsibilities of the Refractive Surgery Manager in their absence. Manage and curate content for the JBER Warfighter Eye Center website. Enhance and maintain the hospital's social media presence, engaging with the community and sharing valuable insights. Update and manage standard clinic forms as needed. Serve as the secondary point of contact for the refractive surgery center's organizational email box for surgery applicants. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Biology, Healthcare Administration, etc.). Certification as an Ophthalmic Technician (COA, COT, or COMT) preferred. Experience in ophthalmic clinical procedures, including photography, angiography, and electrophysiological testing. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
