A little about the position:

The Parts Counter will be responsible for the sale of truck parts and accessories by researching customer requirements, controlling parts inventory, processing invoices and payment, and managing return cores and warranty parts.

Information about the location youll be working at:

Here in Anchorage, we have a heated and air-conditioned warehouse! It is a nice size with a great floorplan. Our building is easily located right off 4th street behind Wendys.

Some of the duties of this position:

  • Assists all customers (retail and shop) in selecting required parts in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing phone traffic.
  • Assist outside sales staff with technical, inventory, and pricing information
  • Identify and record lost sales opportunities to ensure inventory performance remains at a high level.
  • Consistently follow up on outstanding backorders and aging will-call items.
  • Receives payment from retail customers or obtains credit authorization.
  • Coordinate with delivery drivers for daily delivery and pickups.
  • Pull and fill orders from stock for local delivery and outside sales staff.
  • Restocking of incorrect or returned parts.
  • Notifies parts manager of out of stock parts or shop materials that need immediate attention.
  • Source, shop, and order emergency nonstock items from local vendors.
  • Communicate order status of special order items with all customers and service departments.
  • Pulls orders for service and body shops, making sure all parts are tagged with customer names and job numbers.
  • Ensure that local special order parts are returned to the vendor if not picked up by the customer.
  • Makes sure all internal requests for parts are billed on the service repair order.
  • Ensures that all charge sales are signed by the customer.
  • Ensures that all customers receive their copy of the invoice.
  • Issues credit for parts returned, ensuring that the original invoice, or its number, is available so that purchase and pricing can be verified.
  • Keeps orderly records of all repair orders, invoices, insurance estimates, and special order parts.
  • Other duties may be assigned by management.

Skills for success:

High school diploma or GED (preferred).

Detail oriented

Proficient at Microsoft office, communication and time management

Our job requirements:

Must be able to work 40+ hrs per week.

Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record

Ability to operate or be able to be trained to operate a forklift

A little about the physical requirements:

The physical demands described here represent those that must be met by the team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Team members must be able to lift at least 50 pounds on a regular basis and be able to stand for long periods of time. Bending, lifting, and pushing will also be required.
