[ [Job Description: Oversee all LIDDA crisis respite services and IDD crisis intervention activities to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) with significant behavioral and psychiatric challenges residing in Brazos, Burleson, Grimes, Leon, Madison, Robertson, and Washington Counties who require additional support beyond the array of services typically provided within community programs. The Lead Crisis Intervention Specialist will provide information about IDD programs and services to individuals with IDD and their families to IDD providers in the local service area; collaborates with LIDDA staff, transition support or service planning team members, paid providers, etc. to identify individuals with IDD in the local service area who are at risk of requiring crisis services; develop prevention strategies to avoid potential crisis events and promote coping skills for individual in crisis; supports the service coordinators provision of on-going follow-up and monitoring activities, provides education about the manner in which to engage individuals with IDD and their unique needs to members of the Agencys Mobile Crisis Outreach Team (MCOT), law enforcement, and others as appropriate; provide consultation to MCOT as needed or as clinically indicated regarding a crisis event involving an individual with IDD; collaborates with MCOT to develop criteria for referring an individual with IDD in crisis to crisis respite; develops a crisis respite service plan describing the therapeutic support needed by the individual; assisting with transition from crisis respite back to individuals home or other appropriate setting; documents and reports all activities, collaboration, and consultation provided. Consults with IDD Services Director in development or revision of the LIDDA Crisis Respite Plan. [Education: Masters Degree from an accredited university or college with a major in psychology, counseling, social work, or other qualified human services field, with current Texas licensure as a licensed behavior analyst, licensed professional counselor, licensed psychologist, licensed marriage and family therapist, licensed masters level, or clinical social worker, or a Psychiatrist. Experience: One year required experience of a qualified intellectual disability professional; at least two years required experience working with individuals with IDD who have mental health or behavior support needs or linking people with IDD to mental health supports. Knowledgeable about IDD programs and services available in the local service area.; must be able to work independently as well with a team; good organizational skills are essential; Proficient computer skills including MS Word and Excel; and bilingual skills; must complete required training modules within 30 days of hire. *Hours of Work: 8:00am5:00pm Monday through Friday; will require after-hours flexibility to meet the needs of the person in service/program. *Licenses/Certification: Current Texas licensure as BCBA, PA, LPC, LMFT, LMSW, or LCSW.
