Responsibilities

St. Mary’s Physician Associates is a multi-specialty group of employed physicians and midlevel providers that serve a ten-county area in NW Oklahoma. It is located in Enid, Oklahoma which is the county seat for Garfield County. Enid is the seventh largest city in Oklahoma with a population of approximately 65,000 but their primary service area in NW Oklahoma consists of 200,000. The group has satellite clinics in Hennessey, Fairview, Okeene, Woodward, and Ponca City. St. Mary’s Physician Associates is affiliated with St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center, a 229-bed facility.

Independence Physician Management (IPM), a subsidiary of UHS, was formed in 2012 as the physician services unit of UHS. IPM develops and manages multi-specialty physician networks and urgent care clinics which align with UHS acute care facilities. It also provides select services for the Behavioral Health division of UHS. Through continuing growth, IPM operates in 11 markets across six states and the District of Columbia. Position Summary

  • T his position is responsible for performing a wide variety of patient care duties which include assisting in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician.

  • Interviewing patients, measuring vital signs (i.e., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height), venipuncture and procedure as directed by the physician.

  • Documentation is recorded in the Electronic Medical Record in accordance with IPM guideline.

  • Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients.

  • Assists in covering the front desk as required.

  • Executes prescribed treatments and medical interventions, administers prescribed medications, and monitors and documents treatment progress and patient response.

  • Delegates as allowed under the Nurse Practice Act.

  • Refers to/consults with physicians, other health providers, and community resources to prevent/resolve problems or concerns.

  • Educates patients and families about health status, health maintenance, and management of acute and chronic conditions.

    Qualifications

    Education/Certification:

  • RN - Completion of nursing training from an accredited school of nursing.

  • Minimum of two (2) years college or Associate’s Degree. BSN preferred.

  • Current BLS/CPR certification required

  • Current state registered nurse license

    Work experience:

  • Minimum of one to three (1-3) years working as a Registered Nurse required. Three to five (3-5) years of related experience (preferred).
