Salary: $30 to $35 an hour *JOB SUMMARY AtShelby Machine, our objective is to develop excellence in machine design and custom parts. The Machinist will be responsible for preparing raw materials according to Machine Shop needs as well as operating various machine tools, including but not limited to: band saws, manual lathes, manual mills, grinders, including preventative machine maintenance regarding all manufacturing of products. JOB DUTIES *Essential Job Functions

• Will operate manual machines such as: lathes, mills, drill presses, saw, and other manual machines as needed.
• Plans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering drawings, materials, specifications, and machining parameters.
• Interprets geometric dimensions and tolerances.
• Operates overhead cranes/crane hoists to move materials.
• Verifies conformance of work piece to specifications, using square, mic, and measuring equipment.
• Manufacture product based on knowledge of products and current specifications.
• Follow through with all assignments, communicating effectively throughout process.
• Maintain machines and a clean, organized work area on a daily basis.
• Maintain all documentation and follow procedures and specifications.
• Successfully performs the essential functions of the job by properly interpreting situations, demonstrating use of appropriate actions/tools/skills/intuition/analysis.
• Adhere to shop and safety procedures
• All other duties as needed
