TriMas Corporation CNC Machinist in Huntsville, Alabama

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ability to check drawings or job order for product specifications such as dimensions and tolerances, and tooling instructions such as fixtures, feed rates, cutting speeds, depth of cut, and determines sequence of operations.

  • Ability to selects, position and secure tool in tool holder (chuck, collet, or tool post).

  • Ability to position and secure work piece in holding device, machine table, chuck, centers, or fixtures.

  • Ability to move controls to position tool and work piece in relation to each other, and to set specified feeds, speeds, and depth of cut.

  • Ability to set up fixture or feeding device, start machine, and turn hand wheel to feed tool to work piece and vice versa, and engage feed.

  • Ability to turn valve handle to direct flow of coolant or cutting oil against tool and work piece.

  • Ability to observe operation of machine and verify conformance of machined work piece to specifications.

  • Ability to operate bench grinder to sharpen tools.

  • Ability to work as a team member in Acetylene or High Pressure Plant.

  • Willingness to be trained in other operations in the line and work at these positions when needed.

  • Willingness to work overtime when needed.

  • Accomplishes all tasks as appropriately assigned or requested for successful completion of the mission of Norris Cylinder.
