Los Alamos National Laboratory Atmospheric Observatory Post-Master’s Internship in Los Alamos, New Mexico
What You Will Do
Support FIDO's US Department of Energy (DOE) Atmospheric Radiation Measurement (ARM) user facility operations, working in partnership with technical experts from across the global climate science community
Install, operate, repair and maintain meteorological instrumentation and instrument systems
Assemble, repair and design equipment
Create project deliverables using GIS mapping and drafting software
Participate in special projects and other tasks, as assigned
What You Need
Minimum Job Requirements:
Communication : Demonstrated interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
Collaboration: 1 year of experience collaborating with a team to achieve shared goals
Time Management: Ability to work independently within a team, including the ability to take initiative, prioritize, and meet deadlines
Technical Problem Solving: 3 months of experience performing diagnostic testing on low-voltage circuits and familiarity with the use of hand tools
Software : 3 months of experience using GIS, 2D drafting, and/or 3D modeling software.
Desired Qualifications:
3 months of experience in networking protocols
1 year of experience in a mentorship or leadership role
Essential Job Functions (can perform with or without reasonable accommodation): sitting; standing; climbing stairs; climbing ladders lifting 10-20 pounds; carrying 10-20 pounds; kneeling; bending.
Work Environment: Outdoors
Work Location: The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM. All work locations are at the discretion of management.

Directive 206.2 Employment with Triad requires a favorable decision by NNSA indicating employee is suitable under NNSA Supplemental Directive 206.2. No Clearance: Position does not require a security clearance. Selected candidates will be subject to drug testing and other pre-employment background checks.
